In a few words and pictures

I saw my home for the first time 4 days after my birthday. There were flowers all around and weekend had just begun. Wonderful! We have such tradition at home: when you are one year old, they put some objects around you and you have to choose something. The thing you take is supposed to mean something about your future! I took pen, pencil and a piece of paper...

I started to draw people without bodies - only with heads, hands and legs.

Then I noticed that I had missed something.

I couldn't wait until I get new long pack of crayons! I loved to see how sharpened are they and I loved starting a new drawing. That was the nicest moment.

I drew my family, beautiful princesses, and lots of houses. My family was easy to draw: from the highest to the lowest, with glasses on one of my brothers' nose.

I even started to go with my father for some trips with students of Architecture Faculty (he teaches drawing) where we were painting architecture sitting outside (see some effects here).

The second thing I lived with in my everyday life was music. When I was 6, I went to School of Music and I was the youngest. I even couldn't write easily so other children wrote in my exercise books... I played (well I tried to play) piano, and one year later - also violin (I couldn't wait 3 years for choosing the next instrument). Two to four times a week I had lessons, and so my teachers from school asked me to play during school festivities. I think they liked my music more than my drawings in black and white made for art lessons (I wanted to be like the real artist making graphics in black).

When I was 10, I had performance in Warsaw Philharmonic. My piano teacher and my mom were sitting somewhere in a crowd of audience and were very nervous. I turned my chair to make it higher like real pianists do (well they make it lower usually), and I put my fingers gently on a keyboard and waited few long seconds, just to make an audience impatient, like real pianists do. And I started to play two very simple pieces.

Back to my artistic side of life, I always prepared special programs for exams in the School of Music. I always wanted to draw something there, not only write the titles which I play, and I did it with help of my mom. Our mom often helped me and my brothers to prepare some drawings and paintings for children art competitions. Many times we won something (toys) but it was long time ago.

I drew a lot, working outside and inside.

When I was 14, I went to draw with my father's students at the Architecture Faculty. I felt very little and I was afraid of all these "adults". Finally I also became a student, but not there. I studied graphics on Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw. The real life began.

I was interested almost in every subject in my new school. At the end of every academic year, we were preparing the general exposition of our works from the whole year from every subject. It always occupied every floor of our buliding, every wall, corridor and stairs. The work shown there was, however, a little part of what we all were doing during the whole year.

Now I like to travel and paint landscapes and architecture - especially italian - but what I like the most, is a man...
